Wildcard on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year

My finished piece created in 4 hours of Catbells, blazing hot sun helped dry the oil paint!

Saw fleeting images of myself on the programme - nice reminder of a fabulous day.

Last June I had a spot as a Wildcard artist on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year. Oil painting on the hottest day of the year in Crow Park above Keswick. Great experience painting among so many artists. Also very interesting watching the production team, crew and presenters work together. The episode is airing on Wednesday evening 4 Feb on Sky Arts (Freeview 36) at 8pm

Newcastle’s beautiful covered arcade made a good spot for a hour’s painting on a cold damp day.

Love the chaos of the city signage. Very cold day for watercolouring - thin washes slow to dry.

make a wreath for the front door

paint a card for my wife Meg.
